Section Pol 205.02 - Commencement of Proceeding(a) The director, or his or her designee, shall review information received relating to an officer's eligibility to be certified, the decertification of an officer, or an agency's compliance with the council's rules, and make a preliminary determination of probable cause to hold a hearing on the matter, or refer the matter to the council for a determination on whether a hearing is necessary.(b) The council shall, on its own motion direct the staff to commence an investigation and hearing if it receives information from a source that it deems credible outlining a potential violation of council rules.N.H.
