Section Pes 804.04 - Construction Materials for Containment Structure(a) The containment structure shall be constructed of reinforced concrete or other rigid material which provides sufficient strength to withstand the full dynamic or static hydrostatic head, load and impact of any pesticides, precipitation, other substances, equipment, and appurtenances placed within the structure. The containment structure shall not be constructed of natural earthen material, unfired clay, or asphalt.(b) The entire area of the containment structure over which liquids can flow or accumulate shall have a hydraulic conductivity of less than 1 x 10 -7 centimeters per second. This standard may be satisfied by the use, singly or in combination, of structural materials, surface sealants or coatings, or a continuous liner at the bottom of the containment structure, which have a hydraulic conductivity of less than 1 x 10 -7 centimeters per second.(c) All components of the containment structure which might reasonably be expected to contact the pesticide during normal operating conditions or during a catastrophic spill inside the containment structure, shall be composed of materials that are compatible with the pesticide.N.H.
