Section Per 1201.01 - Basic Workweek(a) The basic workweek for every full-time clerical, supervisory and professional employee in the state classified service, with due allowance for authorized holidays and leaves of absence with pay, shall be 37 1/2 hours per week.(b) The basic workweek for every full-time trade, custodial, or other employee in a similar category in the state classified service, with due allowance for authorized holidays and leaves of absence with pay, shall be either 40 hours per week or 37 1/2 hours per week, depending on work schedules determined by a collective bargaining agreement, or determined by the appointing authority as approved by the director.(c) The director shall approve deviations from the basic workweek under (b) above for reasons including, but not limited to:(1) A supervisory position with a shorter workweek than the supervisor's subordinate employees;(2) Exigent work and needs of the agency;(3) Changes in the agency's business hours or hours of operation;(4) Weather or similar environmental emergencies; and(5) Seasonal operating hours.(d) Work hours beyond the basic workweek or work period shall be authorized, in advance, by the appointing authority.(e) An appointing authority may reduce or eliminate overtime hours.N.H.
