Section Pari 808.06 - Stakes Races(a) Licensees shall establish the following conditions for stakes races: (1) The date of the contest;(2) The total of the purse and the added money;(3) The distribution of the purse;(4) The distribution of the added money, if not according to (e) below;(5) The maximum number of entries;(6) The entry standards for greyhounds;(8) The date and time of the deadline for the submission of entries; and(9) Any special rules of the contest.(b) The conditions established pursuant to (a) above shall be set forth in writing.(c) The racing secretary shall:(1) Print the conditions for stakes races;(2) Distribute the conditions to those known to the licensees to have a potential interest in entering greyhounds in the races; and(3) Submit the conditions to the board and the commission.(d) Entries of greyhounds shall close on the date and time stated in the conditions.(e) The racing secretary shall determine the starters for stakes races if the number of entries is in excess of the maximum number of greyhounds stated in the conditions set by the licensees.(f) The added money shall be paid to the winner unless otherwise provided in the conditions set by the licensees.(g) When a race is not run the added money shall be refunded by the licensee to the respective contributors of the money.(h) The entry fee for a stakes race shall be paid by: (1) The owner or the trainer of record if the fee is paid before the race begins; and(2) The licensee if the greyhound runs the race and the entry fee has not been paid by the owner or the trainer of record.(i) The entry fee shall not be refunded in the event of the death of a greyhound or the failure of the greyhound to start.(j) The nomination of an entry shall survive the death of the kennel operator, owner or trainer making the nomination.N.H.
