Section Pari 807.05 - Duties of Trainers
(a) For greyhounds for which they are responsible, trainers shall:
(1) Maintain their racing weight as established pursuant to Pari 808.08;
(2) Bring them to the weighing-in room at the appointed time;
(3) Notify the racing secretary as soon as the trainer knows that a greyhound might be withdrawn;
(4) Notify the commission veterinarian as soon as the trainer becomes aware that a greyhound appears unfit to race; and
(5) Notify the racing secretary that any entry or starting requirement for a greyhound has not been met or is no longer being met.
(b) Trainers shall not use or allowed to be used:
(1) Any lure other than the official lure; and
(2) Live or dead animals as lures.
(c) The trainer of record shall be the absolute insurer of the physical condition of the greyhounds owned by the kennel employing the trainer.
(d) When a trainer of record intends to be absent from the racing premises for 24 hours or longer, the trainer of record or the kennel operator shall:
(1) Advise the commission of the duration of the trainer's absence; and
(2) Request that the commission replace the trainer as trainer of record with another named trainer from the same kennel.
(e) If the original trainer of record returns to the racing premises and wishes to be reinstated as trainer of record, the current trainer of record shall so advise the commission and request the reinstatement.
(f) Upon request made pursuant to (e) above, the commission shall reinstate the original trainer of record as trainer of record.
