Section Ins 1001.01 - Communications Time Limit(a) Every insurer, upon notice of a claim, shall acknowledge the receipt of such notice in writing within 10 working days. This requirement of written acknowledgment shall not preclude a speedier method of acknowledgment where the circumstances warrant. Notification given to an agent of an insurer shall be to the insurer if such agent notifies the claimant within 5 working days that the agent is not notification to the insurer. If the notification is given to the agent of an insurer, such agent may acknowledge receipt of such notice. Unless otherwise provided by law or contract, notice to an agent of an insurer shall not be notice authorized to receive notices of claims.(b) Every insurer shall reply within 10 working days to all claims communications from insureds, claimants, or authorized representatives of either.(c) Every insurer, upon receipt of an inquiry from the insurance department, shall within 10 working days furnish the department with a complete and accurate written response to the inquiry.N.H.
