Section Fis 804.10 - Birds
(a) Bird cages and enclosures shall be as follows:
(1) Bird cages shall be of adequate size to allow for normal postural and social adjustments;
(2) Permittees in categories 1, 2 and 3 shall comply with the following restrictions:
a. Northern bobwhite quail, 6 weeks or older, and other birds of like size shall be caged at a maximum of 2 birds per square foot;
b. Partridge, 6 weeks or older, and other birds of like size, shall be caged with at least a minimum of 10 square feet per bird; and
c. Ringneck pheasants, 6 weeks or older, and other birds of like size, shall be caged with at least a minimum of 20 square feet per bird; and
(3) The use of holding pens shall be permitted for northern bobwhite quail, partridge and pheasants for up to 7 days after importation or acquisition of the birds.
(b) All mute swans shall be marked by the owner. Adults shall be wing clipped, with the primary feathers cut annually. Progeny shall be pinioned. Adults, eggs, and progeny shall not be released.
