Section Env-Wq 709.04 - Grinding Facilities Grinding devices may be used in addition to screening devices if the following requirements are satisfied:
(a) Grinding devices installed in addition to mechanical screening devices in a building where other equipment or offices are located shall be separated from the rest of the building, provided with separate outside entrances, and provided with mechanical ventilation; and(b) Grinding devices that are installed in addition to mechanical screening devices shall have slots no more than 1/4-inch wide and be designed to cut or shred material below the surface of the sewage.N.H.
