Section Env-Wq 1010.14 - Replacement of Septic Tanks(a) A septic tank may be replaced without department approval only if: (1) The existing septic tank is replaced with one or more tanks of the same liquid capacity or larger;(2) The replacement tank is installed in the location of the existing tank so that no waiver to any set-back is needed;(3) The ISDS does not need to be repaired or replaced, as defined in Env-Wq 1002; and(4) The replacement tank is installed by a permitted installer, except a homeowner may replace the tank for the homeowner's own domicile.(b) Any septic tank(s) replaced or added as part of a replacement ISDS shall be shown on the plans submitted with the application.(c) If below-grade plumbing fixtures are to be connected to an existing state-approved ISDS, amended plans shall be submitted as specified in Env-Wq 1004.08 if the liquid capacity of septic tank is required by Env-Wq 1010.01(i) to be increased and a septic tank is added or a single-compartment septic tank is replaced with a multi-compartment septic tank.N.H.
