Section 641A.252 - Code of Ethics: Adoption by reference; effect of violation1. The Board hereby adopts by reference: (a) The most recent edition of the AAMFT Code of Ethics of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy or its successor organization as a standard for professional conduct in the State of Nevada for marriage and family therapists and marriage and family therapist interns, excluding those provisions which apply exclusively to the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy or its successor organization.(b) The most recent edition of the Code of Ethics of the National Board for Certified Counselors or its successor organization as a standard for professional conduct in the State of Nevada for clinical professional counselors and clinical professional counselor interns, excluding those provisions which apply exclusively to the National Board for Certified Counselors or its successor organization.(c) The most recent edition of the Code of Ethics of the American Counseling Association or its successor organization as a standard for professional conduct in the State of Nevada for clinical professional counselors and clinical professional counselor interns, excluding those provisions which apply exclusively to the American Counseling Association or its successor organization.2. The AAMFT Code of Ethics is available, free of charge, from the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy on the Internet at http://www.aamft.org, or from the Board upon request.3. The Code of Ethics of the National Board for Certified Counselors is available, free of charge, from the National Board for Certified Counselors on the Internet at http://www.nbcc.org/ethics, or from the Board upon request.5. If a publication adopted by reference by this section is revised, the Board will review the revision to determine its suitability for this State. If the Board determines that the revision is not suitable for this State, the Board will hold a public hearing to review its determination and give notice of that hearing within 90 days after the date of publication of the revision. If, after the hearing, the Board does not revise its determination, the Board will give notice that the revision is not suitable for this State within 90 days after the hearing. If the Board does not give such notice, the revision becomes part of the publication adopted by reference pursuant to subsection 1.6. A violation of the provisions of a code of ethics adopted by reference pursuant to this section constitutes cause for disciplinary action.Nev. Admin. Code § 641A.252
