Section 638.700 - Appropriate use of anesthesia, analgesia and sedation

A veterinarian shall use appropriate methods of anesthesia, analgesia and sedation during each surgical procedure performed on an animal to:

1. Minimize pain and distress in the animal; and

2. Prevent injury to the animal.
