If an accident occurs that renders a boiler, pressure vessel or pressure-retaining item inoperative, the owner or user shall immediately notify the Enforcement Section at (775) 684-7085. The owner or user shall investigate the accident and submit a report relating to the investigation to the Administrator within 10 business days after the accident. Such a boiler, pressure vessel or pressure-retaining item and any parts thereof must not be removed or disturbed before an inspection has been made by an inspector or special inspector unless human life is endangered or except to limit further damage.
