Section 467.071 - Ringside physicians: Licensing requirements and fees; certification in life-saving procedures; treatment or examination of unarmed combatant1. Ringside physicians must be licensed annually. The Commission may issue such licenses as the need for the services of ringside physicians is determined by the Commission.2. To apply for the issuance or renewal of a license as a ringside physician, an applicant must: (a) Submit an application to the Commission which includes a disclosure of any resolved or pending medical malpractice claims against the applicant and any civil or criminal actions filed against the applicant that have not been previously disclosed to the Commission.(b) Hold an active license to practice medicine in this State issued by the Board of Medical Examiners or an active license to practice osteopathic medicine issued by the State Board of Osteopathic Medicine.3. In determining whether to issue or renew a license as a ringside physician, the Commission will consider: (a) The applicant's past performance as a ringside physician;(b) The applicant's capabilities as a physician;(c) The status of the applicant's license with the Board of Medical Examiners, the State Board of Osteopathic Medicine or the medical licensing authority of any other state, including, without limitation, any resolved or pending malpractice claims and any civil or criminal actions filed against the applicant; and(d) The general and professional reputation of the applicant.4. A ringside physician must maintain:(a) An active license to practice medicine in this State issued by the Board of Medical Examiners or an active license to practice osteopathic medicine in this State issued by the State Board of Osteopathic Medicine; and(b) Certification to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation or an equivalent or more advanced certification in advanced life-saving procedures.5. A ringside physician licensed pursuant to this section must immediately notify the Executive Director or the Executive Director's designee if the ringside physician treats or examines an unarmed combatant or an applicant for a license as an unarmed combatant unless the treatment is:(a) Provided in a medical emergency; or(b) Otherwise allowed by the Commission.Nev.
