Section 459.3174 - Requirements for issuance of any license
1. An applicant for any license issued by the Division pursuant to NAC 459.010 to 459.950, inclusive, and sections 4 to 28, inclusive,, except an applicant for the renewal of a license, must describe in the application how facility design and procedures for operation will:
(a) Minimize, to the extent practicable, the:
(1) Contamination of the facility and environment; and
(2) Generation of radioactive waste; and
(b) Facilitate eventual decommissioning.
2. A licensee shall, to the extent practical, conduct operations to minimize the introduction of residual radioactivity into the site, including the subsurface, in accordance with the existing requirements for protection against radiation set forth in NAC 459.321 and radiological criteria for the termination of a license set forth in NAC 459.316 to 459.3184, inclusive.
