Section 459.197 - Specific licenses: Appointment of radiation safety officer required; exception1. In addition to any other requirements for obtaining a specific license issued by the Division, an applicant for a specific license must, except as otherwise provided in NAC 459.272, appoint a radiation safety officer to implement and oversee a radiation safety program for the use of radioactive material specified in the application for the specific license.2. Before a radiation safety officer is appointed pursuant to subsection 1 or the licensee obtains licensed radioactive material, whichever occurs later, the radiation safety officer must satisfy the training and experience requirements set forth in NAC 459.3141 to 459.3154, inclusive, as applicable, and any other training deemed by the Division to be necessary to minimize danger to the public health and safety or property.Nev.
