Section 449.61226 - Operating rooms: General requirements1. An approved hospital shall maintain two fully equipped operating rooms, one dedicated to and another available for services for open-heart surgery. Each operating room must have a minimum clearance of 400 square feet, exclusive of fixed cabinets and built-in shelves. Entry to the operating rooms must be limited to persons participating in the service.2. The ventilation and temperature control systems of each operating room must be able to provide a minimum of 15 air changes per hour in the operating room and maintain the air temperature between 70°F and 75°F, with a relative humidity between 50 and 60 percent.Nev.
