Section 446.142 - Raw fruits and vegetables: Washing1. Except as otherwise provided in subsection 2, and except for whole, raw fruits and vegetables that are intended for washing by the consumer before consumption, raw fruits and vegetables must be thoroughly washed in water to remove soil and other contaminants before being cut, combined with other ingredients, cooked, served or offered for human consumption in ready-to-eat form.2. Fruits and vegetables may be washed by using chemicals: (a) Which are generally recognized as safe for the washing of food; or(b) As approved by the health authority.Nev. Admin. Code § 446.142
