Section 445A.66575 - "Water hammer" defined

"Water hammer" means a potentially damaging slam, bang or shudder that occurs in a pipe when a sudden change in water velocity, usually caused by the rapid starting or stopping of a pump or opening or closing of a valve, creates a great increase in the pressure of water.
