Section 424.624 - Director: Vacancy in position; temporary operation without director; designation of acting director1. If the director of a specialized foster home resigns or is terminated, the specialized foster home must notify the licensing authority in writing not later than 5 business days after the resignation or termination occurs.2. If a vacancy in the position of director occurs, the specialized foster home must apply to the licensing authority for approval to continue the operation of the specialized foster home without a director. If approval is given, the specialized foster home may operate without a director for not more than 6 months unless an extension is granted by the licensing authority.3. A specialized foster home that applies for permission to operate temporarily without a director pursuant to subsection 2 shall: (a) Not later than 14 calendar days after the vacancy in the position of director is created, designate an acting director who meets the requirements of NAC 424.622, unless the specialized foster home receives approval from the licensing authority to designate an acting director who does not meet those requirements;(b) Notify the licensing authority within 1 business day after the designation of the acting director;(c) Require the acting director to carry out the duties and responsibilities of a director;(d) Ensure that the health, safety and well-being of any child placed in the specialized foster home will not be adversely affected; and(e) Immediately begin to recruit a new director.
