To receive an endorsement to teach music, a person must have a bachelor's degree and:
1. Have completed an approved program of preparation for teaching music; or2. Have completed: (a) Twenty-two semester hours of professional education which included: (1) Foundations of education;(2) Methods of teaching music in elementary or secondary grades;(3) Eight semester hours of supervised teaching; and(4) Three semester hours in strategies for working with students with disabilities, including curricular adaptation; and(b) Thirty-six semester hours in the foundations of music which included:(2) The history or literature of music;(3) Applied music, including an area of specialization in vocal or instrumental music;(5) Techniques for brass, woodwind, percussion, piano and string instruments;(6) Diction or vocal techniques and pedagogy; andNev.
