Section 388.Sec. 1.4 - NEW

The curriculum for a Teacher Academy College Pathway Program which is offered pursuant to section 3 of Assembly Bill No. 428, chapter 491, Statutes of Nevada 2023, at page 3009 (NRS 388.223), must include, without limitation:

1. An initial assessment of each pupil who is interested in participating in the Program in accordance with paragraph (c) of subsection 2 of section 3 of Assembly Bill No. 428, chapter 491, Statutes of Nevada 2023, at page 3009 (NRS 388.223);
2. Opportunities for a qualified pupil who is enrolled in the Program to complete an internship at an elementary, junior high or middle school in the school district in which the pupil is enrolled, in accordance with paragraph (d) of subsection 2 of section 3 of Assembly Bill No. 428, chapter 491, Statutes of Nevada 2023, at page 3009 (NRS 388.223);
3. Instruction designed to ensure that pupils who complete the Program are academically prepared to enroll in a program to become a teacher offered by an institution in the Nevada System of Higher Education, including, without limitation:
(a) Courses of study in career and technical education; or
(b) College preparatory courses in any area in which a pupil who is enrolled in the Program is deficient; and
4. Courses that have been approved for dual credit pursuant to NRS 389.160, or courses which:
(a) Align with the contents and rigor of courses taught in programs to become a teacher offered by institutions in the Nevada System of Higher Education; and
(b) Are eligible for college credit at no cost to the pupil, in accordance with any agreement entered into pursuant to paragraph (g) of subsection 2 of section 3 of Assembly Bill No. 428, chapter 491, Statutes of Nevada 2023, at page 3009 (NRS 388.223).
