A pupil who enrolls in his or her first semester in the ninth grade in a school is academically eligible to participate in any sanctioned sport until the pupil fails to meet any requirement set forth in NAC 385B.750 to 385B.770, inclusive, and sections 3 to 8, inclusive of this regulation. Such a pupil shall be deemed to meet the requirements set forth in section 5 of this regulation for the first grading period in which he or she is enrolled.
