The Department periodically performs or receives cost report audits to monitor the accuracy of data used to set rates. Audits may be performed by the hospital's Medicare intermediary, the Department, or an independent public accounting firm, licensed to do business in Nebraska and retained by the Department. Audits will be performed as determined appropriate by the Department.
