Section 180-5-001 - SCOPE AND AUTHORITY

180 Nebraska Administrative Code (NAC) 5 prescribes requirements for the issuance of licenses or registrations for the industrial use of sources of radiation and radiation safety requirements for persons using these sources of radiation in industrial radiography. The regulations are authorized by and implement the Nebraska Radiation Control Act, Nebraska Revised Statute (Neb. Rev. Stat.) §§ 71-3501 to 71-3520.

001.01GENERAL PROVISIONS. The provisions and requirements of 180 NAC 5 are in addition to, and not in substitution for, other requirements of Title 180. In particular, the general requirements and provisions of 180 NAC 1, 2, 3, 4, 10, 13, and 18 apply to applicants, licensees and registrants subject to 180 NAC 5. 180 NAC 5 does not apply to medical uses of sources of radiation addressed in 180 NAC 6, 7 and 20.
