Title III of the Federal Superfund Amendments Reauthorization Act (SARA Title III) provides state governors or their representatives (i.e., members of the State Emergency Response Commission), the option to designate additional categories of facilities which shall become subject to the emergency planning provisions of that statute, if such designation is made after public notice and opportunity for comment. The notification and reporting requirements contained in Chapter 3 of this title apply to designated additional facilities unless more stringent requirements are provided in the additional facility designation chapter(s) of this title.
