New hires are required to serve an original probationary period of six months from date of hire, rehire, or transfer and will be so notified. An employee will be removed from original probation status on the day following the end of the original probationary period, unless notified of extension (see 002. below) or separation (see 003. below) by the agency head. The agency head will notify the employee in writing of successful completion of the probationary period.
