Section 22 CSR 10-2.135 - Benefit Package OptionPURPOSE: This rule establishes the policy of the board of trustees in regard to a subscriber's objection to contraception coverage due to religious or moral objections.
(1) Subscribers may choose to not have contraception coverage if such items or procedures are contrary to his/her religious beliefs or moral convictions.(2) A subscriber must notify Missouri Consolidated Health Care Plan via the method prescribed by the plan, that they have an objection to coverage of contraception due to a religious belief or moral conviction during any applicable enrollment period.(3) For coverage beginning January 1, 2018, the plan shall specify a period of at least ten (10) days in which to receive notifications.(4) Once a subscriber elects to not have contraception coverage, she/he will be unable to elect contraception coverage during the plan year unless there is a qualifying event under 22 CSR 10-2.020 or 22 CSR 10-2.110 or an open enrollment period.(5) If a subscriber objects to the coverage, their benefits will provide no coverage for any contraception services as either a medical or pharmacy benefit for themselves and anyone they cover as a dependent. If a member is Medicare primary, their benefits will remain unchanged.Adopted by Missouri Register April 2, 2018/Volume 43, Number 7, effective 5/31/2018
