PURPOSE: This amendment updates terminology and statutory authority.
PURPOSE: This rule requires the area agency on aging to support the statewide Long-Term Care Ombudsman program and establishes criteria for funding local programs.
(1) The area agency on aging shall conduct ombudsman activities that support the division-administered Long-Term Care Ombudsman program. The area agency on aging may award funds for the provision of a Long-Term Care Ombudsman program and that award shall be based on a consideration of the degree to which the ombudsman service provider has- (A) Established measurable objectives;(B) Identified facilities in the project area;(C) Developed a plan for informing and serving the older residents of the identified facilities; and(D) Developed a plan for recordkeeping that includes such data as to the nature of the complaints received, efforts made to resolve complaints and procedures to maintain the confidentiality of service recipient records and files.
