Section 11 CSR 50-2.210 - HornPURPOSE: This rule describes the procedures and standards for the inspection of the horn. The inspection of the horn is a requirement of section 307.365, RSMo.
(1) Every motor vehicle shall be equipped with a horn directed forward, or whistle in good working order, capable of emitting a sound adequate in quantity and volume to give warning of the approach of the vehicle to other users of the highway and to pedestrians.(2) Reject vehicle if: (A) Vehicle is not equipped with a horn;(B) Horn is not audible under normal conditions;(C) Horn button or switch is not firmly mounted providing a good ground. If horn is actuated by grounding two (2) naked wires or a similar method; or(D) Horn button or switch is not readily accessible from driver's position.
