Rule 40-2-1.34 - MUSCADINE FARMS WMA REGULATIONS
A. Regulations for Muscadine Farms Wildlife Management Area in Washington County.

OTHER MIGRATORY GAME BIRDS: All other migratory game birds may be hunted in assigned units while on permitted waterfowl hunts during the legal season for the species. Outside of the regular waterfowl season, migratory game birds may be hunted daily on the WMA during the legal season for those species.

NO OTHER SEASON shall be open and no other animals shall be hunted or disturbed.

DOVE

Whenever the opening date set above falls on a Sunday, the season shall begin on the preceding Saturday. NO OTHER SEASON shall be open and no other animals shall be hunted or disturbed.

B. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
1. WMA USER PERMIT: All persons using this wildlife management area, except those exempt from purchasing an annual hunting or fishing license, must carry on their person an annual statewide Wildlife Management Area User Permit. This permit is required in addition to completing the daily visitor use permit or by using the WMA Check-In App and any required license and may be purchased wherever licenses are sold.
2. BAG LIMITS: Same as statewide bag limits, except the bag limit on antlerless deer is two (2) and one (1) any antlered buck. ALL harvested deer count towards statewide bag limits, unless otherwise stated.
3. LEGAL SHOT: Only non-toxic shot may be used for hunting waterfowl on this area. Any weapon may be used for the Permitted YOUTH DEER Hunts.
4. SEPTEMBER TEAL HUNTING PERMITS: September teal hunting is allowed by special permit only. You may apply online at www.mdwfp.com. See application for hunt dates, application deadlines, and other information about permitted hunts.
5. WATERFOWL HUNTING PERMITS: All waterfowl hunts, except for the youth/veteran/active military hunts, are draw hunts only. You may apply online at www.mdwfp.com. See application for hunt dates, application deadlines, and other information about permitted hunts. Duck draw hunts will be conducted on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays only.
6. DOG RESTRICTIONS:
a. Retrievers are allowed during migratory bird hunts on Muscadine Farms Tract. All other dogs are prohibited on Muscadine Farms Tract.
b. On Washington and Po-Lutken Tracts, small game hunting with dogs is allowed during any small game season.
c. Hunting, running, or pursuing hogs and/or deer with the use of dogs is prohibited.
7. OFF-ROAD MOTORIZED VEHICLES/ATVs: ORVs/ATVs/Electric Bicycles prohibited. Additionally, electric bicycles may be ridden on marked foot-traffic trails only by users 65 years of age and older. They may not be ridden on any leveed roads or trails.
8. HORSES: No horses allowed.
9. CAMPING: No camping allowed.
10. SHOOTING HOURS: Shooting hours for waterfowl end at 12 p.m. Waterfowl hunters must check-out by 1 p.m. For first season dove hunting shooting hours are from 2 p.m. until sunset. All other migratory bird shooting hours are the same as statewide seasons.
11. NON-HUNTING USE OF THE AREA/SCOUTING: During Waterfowl seasons, non-hunting use of the area is allowed by foot traffic only on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays 12 p.m. until 3 p.m.
12. DOVE: A special youth dove hunt will be held on a designated field Sept. 7, 2024 from 2 p.m. until sunset. No dove hunting shall be allowed prior to the special youth dove hunt. Youth dove hunters must apply online at www.mdwfp.com and register at the WMA Headquarters on Sept. 7 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Dove hunting will be allowed on Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays only from Sept. 8, 2024 at 2 p.m. until sunset for the remainder of the first statewide dove season. Dove hunters may not enter the WMA prior to noon. All other migratory game birds may be hunted in assigned unites while on permitted waterfowl hunts during the legal season for the species. Outside of regular waterfowlseason, migratory game birds may be hunted daily on the WMA during the legal season for those species.
13. DEER DATA COLLECTION: All deer harvested must be recorded on DAILY VISITOR USE PERMIT card or the WMA Check-In App before leaving the area. All deer harvested must be checked at a self-service data collection station by the hunter who harvested them before leaving the WMA. If WMA personnel are not available to check the deer, the hunter is responsible for collecting and legibly recording ALL biological data (weight, antler measurements, and jawbone). Instructions and equipment will be provided.
14. DEER HUNTING PERMITS: Deer hunting on the Washington Tract ONLY is allowed by special permit only. You may apply online at www.mdwfp.com. See application for hunt dates, application deadlines, and other information about permitted hunts.
