If during highway project construction noise impact is expected to occur, abatement measures to be considered include traffic management measures; alteration of horizontal and vertical alignments; acquisition of property rights for construction of noise barriers; construction of noise barriers; acquisition of property or interest therein to serve as buffer zones; and noise insulation of public use or nonprofit institutional structures to meet interior standards.
