The maintenance responsibility of the MDOT extends no farther right and left of the center line on streets having curbs at the time of the takeover, or having curbs added by the Municipality after the takeover, than the inside face of the curbs, and shall not include the curbs. Where curbs are added by the State at a later date the maintenance responsibility of the MDOT shall include the curbs but extend no farther right and left of the centerline than the back of the curbs.
