To the greatest extent practical MDOT uses a competitive application process when selecting projects to be funded. Before a project can be evaluated and selected for recommendation to the Transportation Commission for approval, certain application documents as well as federally required certifications and assurances must be submitted to the Public Transit Division. Project applications will be evaluated to determine the extent to which the proposed project meets overall program goals, objectives, application requirements and criteria set forth in the most recent version of the State Management Plan for Federal Transit Administration funded transportation programs.
