There are specific federal requirements for planning related to programs and projects funded with Federal Transit Administration assistance. To the extent required by federal guidance MDOT passes these requirements along to the applicants for and recipients of federal funds through the most recent versions of the following:
* 23 CFR Part 450, Statewide Transportation Improvement Program, as amended;
* 49 U.S.C. Section 135 Transportation Improvement Program, as amended;
* 49 U.S.C 5303 - 5306, as amended
