The Department will make a determination as to whether to grant or deny a license within 30 days of receiving a completed application. If the Department is unable to receive results of a background check for disqualifying felonies within those 30 days, it will grant a license to otherwise successful applicants. Thereafter, if the Department receives results from the background checks that include a disqualifying felony, it will provide the licensee with the opportunity to divest itself of the individual with a disqualifying felony. If the licensee is unable to or refuses to do so within 10 days of notice, the Department will revoke the subject license.
