1. The purpose of this regulation is to ensure the protection, health and safety of children who are detained in juvenile detention facilities in Mississippi by providing for the licensing of juvenile detention facilities. These regulations are intended to assure that certain minimum standards are maintained by juvenile detention facilities and are enforced by the licensing agency, the Juvenile Facilities Monitoring Unit, a division of the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (hereinafter the "Unit").2. Nothing herein shall be construed to create or imply a private cause of action for a violation of this regulation.Miss. Code Ann. §§ 43-21-901 to 43-21-915 (Rev. 2016).
