Rule 30-901-1.20 - Open Meetings In compliance with Open Meeting Laws of the State of Mississippi, members of the general public are welcome to attend meetings of the Board. The Board has adopted the following rules of conduct for members of the general public attending meetings of the Board.
1. Members of the public are requested to register with the Executive Director. Organized groups must have one (1) spokesperson.2. Upon request, an individual or a spokesperson will be allowed to address the Board. Speaking time is limited to ten (10) minutes, unless extended by the presiding officer.3. When the Board votes to go into Executive Session, all members of the general public must leave the meeting room; they will be advised when they may re-enter.4. Members of the general public will behave in a calm, professional manner.5. Failure to comply with these rules will be grounds for dismissal from the meeting.6. If members of the public require special provisions accommodating a qualifying temporary or permanent disability in order to attend a Board meeting, a written request identifying the disability and accommodations needed must be submitted to the Executive Director thirty (30) days before the meeting.
