Rule 30-2865-7.1 - Types of Accreditation for Mississippi Practical Nurse Programs approved by the Mississippi Board of NursingA. Any institution seeking approval to establish a practical nursing program, in the state of Mississippi must:1) Agree to be governed by the rules and regulations of the Board with regard to Standards for Practical Nursing Accreditation,2) Meet the minimum prescribed requirements as outlined in the Mississippi Curriculum Framework for Post-Secondary Practical Nursing,3) Pay the $2,500 non-refundable fee assessed to institutions seeking program approval,4) Be responsible for all fees associated with the accreditation process. Such fees include, but are not limited to: the accreditation visit team travel, hotel accommodations, meal per diem, printing, and postage.5) Successfully complete all three stages of accreditation.B. Stages of Accreditation: 1) Stage I: Declaration of Intent.2) Stage II: Qualify for Initial Accreditation. Upon approval of Initial Accreditation, an institution may admit students.3) Stage III: Qualify for Full Accreditation.C.
