Rule 23-209-1.32 - IV PolesA. Medicaid defines an IV pole as a device to suspend fluid to be administered by gravity or pump.B. Medicaid covers IV poles for all beneficiaries when prior authorized by the Utilization Management and Quality Improvement Organization (UM/QIO), the Division of Medicaid or designated entity, for rental up to purchase amount, or purchase when ordered by physician when the beneficiary is receiving enteral or parenteral fluids or IV medications and the beneficiary is not using an ambulatory infusion pump.23 Miss.
