Rule 23-202-6.1 - [Effective 1/1/2025] DefinitionsThe Division of Medicaid defines:
A. Rural Emergency Hospitals (REH) are facilities that convert from either a critical access hospital (CAH) or a rural hospital (or one treated as such under section 1886(d)(8)(E) of the Social Security Act) with less than 50 beds, and that do not provide acute care inpatient services except for skilled nursing facility services furnished in a distinct part/unit.B.
