By law, the Board is composed of six members. Miss. Code Ann. Section 69-7-103 provides that the Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce shall be a member along with four other members to be appointed by the governor from each highway commissioner's district and one other member to be appointed from the state at large. The law provides that one member shall be a wholesale groceryman dealing in fruits and vegetables, one retail groceryman dealing in fruits and vegetables, one farmer growing fruits and vegetables and one farmer producing poultry and eggs. Each member is appointed to a four-year term.
