The TMD must oversee corrective action planning at their institution. Structured plans may be created by any of the PIPS team members or trauma committees in an effort to improve sub-optimal performance identified through the PIPS process. The goal is to create forward momentum to effect demonstrable outcome change leading to subsequent loop closure. An evaluation and re-evaluation process will be part of the plan according to the institution's action plan methodology. Examples of corrective action categories are:
