Rule 15-18-77-5.5.2 - Definitions1. Chamber System - a system of bottomless molded plastic chambers installed in direct contact with the trench bottom to infiltrate primary treated effluent into the soil for final treatment and disposal.2. Aggregate Replacement Disposal System - any normally gravity-fed subsurface disposal field utilizing an alternate media or technology to act as a replacement for the aggregate media. These system depths range from 36 to 6 inches in depth. a. Standard Subsurface Disposal 25 in. to 36 in.b. Shallow Subsurface Disposal 13 in. to 24 in.c. Ultra-shallow Subsurface Disposal 6 in. to 12 in.3. Large Diameter Aggregate Replacement System - subsurface disposal system that utilizes large diameter pipe covered with a filtering material approved by the Mississippi State Department of Health for use in IOWDS systems.4. Multi-Pipe Aggregate Replacement System - subsurface disposal system that utilizes a multiple arrangement of piping, approved by the Mississippi State Department of Health, to replace the aggregate media of conventional soil absorption systems for use in IOWDS systems.5. Treatment - a process applied to wastewater which causes the resulting effluent to meet or exceed EPA secondary standards for treated wastewater for surface discharge and which does not endanger the public health.15 Miss.
