Each ICF-IID shall have laundry facilities unless commercial laundries are used. The laundry shall be located in a specifically designated area, and there shall be adequate room and space for sorting, processing, and storage of soiled material. Laundry rooms or soiled linen storage areas shall not open directly into a client bedroom or food service area. Soiled materials shall not be transported through the food service area. If commercial laundry is used, separate satisfactory storage areas shall be provided for clean and soiled linens. There shall be provided a clean linen storage area separate from the laundry area.
