The terms "ambulation" or "ambulatory" shall mean the resident's ability to bear weight, pivot, and safely walk independently or with the use of a cane, walker, or other mechanical supportive device (i.e., including, but not limited to, a wheelchair). A resident who requires a wheelchair must be capable of transferring to and propelling the wheelchair independently or with prompting.
