Rule 15-16-1-3.14.3 - Contract Transportation Should the Pediatric Skilled Nursing Facility provide or contract for transportation, it is incumbent upon the center to assure that:
1. All drivers are appropriately licensed; 2. All vehicles used for the transportation of the Pediatric Skilled Nursing Facility children have current safety inspection stickers, licenses (vehicle tag) and registration; 3. Insurance adequately covers the transportation of children; 4. A daily sign-in sheet or log is maintained of the children being transported and include the to/from location; 5. A trained medical escort will accompany all children during transport. An additional medical escort shall be required for every six children. The driver of the bus/vehicle cannot serve as a medical escort; 6. Children board and leave from the curbside of the street and/or safely accompanied to the destinations; 7. Upon arrival via transportation to the child's final destination care of child is relinquished to either a parent/guardian or designated caregiver as authorized by the parent or guardian. 15 Miss.
