The Critical Care Paramedic Course shall be offered through an approved advanced Life Support Training Program approved through the Bureau of EMS (BEMS). These programs are set up through the Mississippi Community College System and are accredited through Committee on Accreditation of Education Programs for the EMS Professions (CoAEMSP). The guidelines and minimum standards are set forth in order to establish a minimum level of training for the Emergency Medical Technician at the advanced level desiring to receive Critical Care Paramedic status. The University of Mississippi Medical Center is authorized by the BEMS to conduct Critical Care Paramedic training programs statewide. All Critical Care Paramedic training programs must have the BEMS approval.
