Rule 15-11-55-4.5.1 - Building and Living Shelters1. General Construction a. Camp structures and facilities shall comply with applicable State and local building and zoning codes with Southern Building Code being the final authority.b. Every building, structure, tent, cabin, and premises shall be kept in good repair and shall be maintained in a safe and sanitary condition.c. When electrical systems are installed in camps, they shall be approved, installed, and maintained in accordance with the provisions of the National Electrical Code.d. Where floors are provided in buildings, tents or other structures used for sleeping quarters, they shall be easily cleanable and in good repair; shall be constructed and maintained in a safe condition; shall afford adequate protection against inclement weather; and shall be located and maintained so as to provide easy, unobstructed exit in case of fire or other emergency.2. Shelters for Residential Camps a. In all buildings or tents, sleeping space shall be so arranged to provide a minimum of 25 square feet of floor area per person.b. Each camper shall be provided with an individual sleeping space.c. All buildings used as permanent sleeping quarters shall have a minimum ceiling height of 7 feet over at least 50¢ of the floor area.15 Miss. Code. R. 11-55-4.5.1
