Part 7011.1600 - DEFINITIONS As used in parts 7011.1600 to 7011.1700, the following words shall have the meanings defined herein:
A. Acid mist. "Acid mist" means sulfuric acid mist as measured by Method 8.B. Sulfuric acid production unit. "Sulfuric acid production unit" means any emission facility producing sulfuric acid by the contact process by burning elemental sulfur, alkylation acid, hydrogen sulfide, organic sulfides and mercaptans, or acid sludge, but does not include facilities where conversion to sulfuric acid is utilized primarily as a means of preventing emissions to the atmosphere of sulfur dioxide or other sulfur compounds.C. Existing sulfuric acid production unit. "Existing sulfuric acid production unit" means a sulfuric acid production unit on which construction, modification, or reconstruction did not commence after August 17, 1971.Minn.
