Part 1305.0503 - SECTION 503, GENERAL HEIGHT AND BUILDING AREA LIMITATIONSIBC section 503.1.4.1 is modified to read as follows:
503.1.4.1Enclosures over occupied roof areas. Elements or structures enclosing the occupied roof areas shall not extend more than 48 inches (1220 mm) above the surface of the occupied roof. Exceptions:
1. Penthouses constructed in accordance with Section 1510.2.2. Towers, domes, spires, and cupolas constructed in accordance with Section 1510.5.3. Where the occupied roof is considered a story and complies with the requirements of Sections 504 and 506.4. Enclosing walls shall not be limited in height where the occupied roof has access to a standpipe.
